Personalised support for your recovery journey.

Grounded in empathy and understanding.

Grounded in empathy and understanding, our support initiatives are designed to help you thrive in your recovery journey.

With different levels of support and assistance available, we’ll help you in the way that best caters to your short and long-term needs. Please note that our programs (except our NDIS services) require a referral from a medical professional. In some cases, a referral from a specific medical field (e.g. a Psychiatrist) is required — we’ll let you know if this is the case.

But, before you worry about getting a referral, we'd love to chat with you and hear your story. If you're reaching out to aha on behalf of a friend or family member, we'd love to hear from you too.

Programs that change with you.

We offer five programs, delivered in accordance with National Mental Health Standards.

  1. Community Supported Residential Units (CSRU)
  2. Albany Outreach Service
  3. Community NDIS Services
  4. Transitional Housing
  5. Mental Health Housing

As your recovery journey evolves and your needs change, you can transition between aha programs. Many of our clients go through multiple programs during their time with us — it’s just one of the ways we stay flexible and continue to offer tailored support.

How we support you.

  • Community Supported Residential Units

Funded by the Mental Health Commission. this is a 24/7 supported service in a home-like environment. Operated at an 11-bed facility,  the service aims to improve housing stability and community participation for people with serious and persistent mental health conditions. We assist clients in achieving their full potential to live independent and fulfilling lives through community-based accommodation and coordinated clinical and psych-social support services.

  • Mental Health Housing

Funded by the WA Department for Communities through the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness (NPHA) Agreement, this program supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This includes men, women, and young people (16 to 25 years), who are receiving mental health inpatient care or treatment to access and maintain stable long-term accommodation upon discharge.

    Participants can:

    • access and/or maintain long-term stable accommodation.
    • access existing mental health services, including Community Support Services and Clinical Services.
    • access other mainstream services as appropriate including links to education and training;
    • maintain stable accommodation for a period of at least 12 months.

  • Albany Outreach Service

Funded by the Mental Health Commission, AOS supports clients with mental health conditions living in the lower Great Southern area in their daily living and community involvement.

  • Transitional Housing

Funded by the Mental Health Commission, aha operates two houses within the community linked to personalised support. The program provides accommodation and aids clients with chronic mental health conditions that require a transitional period of extra support before transitioning to independent living and housing.

This individualised program is flexible and tailored to meet the needs of each client. The housing term is medium-term but may be extended depending on exit options and the client’s recovery.

  • NDIS Program

As a registered NDIS service provider, aha provides support to clients through our NDIS program. Services and care are delivered in line with the client’s NDIS approved plans, with regular planned reviews. Client advocacy and coordination play a major role in delivering this program to some of the community’s most vulnerable people.

Unlike aha’s other programs, a referral isn’t needed for our NDIS services.

Not sure what you need?

That’s okay! We’re here to chat through our programs in more detail, listen intently, answer questions, and advise you on the best way forward. Whether you’re enquiring for yourself or on behalf of someone else, we’re ready.
