This is aha.
After 40 years as Albany Halfway House Association, we are now aha Great Southern!
While our name has changed, we remain a community-based not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering mental health recovery services for adults living in the Great Southern region of WA.
The
aha difference.
We’re not just another service provider; aha is community-based organisation embedded in the Great Southern where our local knowledge is our strength.
Our team of skilled and trained staff offer recovery-focused services and specialise in psychosocial support, guiding and supporting our participants as they work towards their recovery goals.
We prioritise flexibility and a person-centred service approach where every person is met with understanding and receives support that meets their specific needs.
Our purpose.
At aha, we are there for the journey, dedicated to empowering individuals experiencing mental health conditions to live independently.
We are committed to creating a supportive community where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their own vision of a meaningful life.
We deliver a person-centred approach to recovery, building everyday living skills, fostering social and community inclusion, and ensuring no one is left behind.
Our strategic priorities for the period of 2024 – 2030 are:
Be an “Employer of Choice” where people thrive.
Improve and embed systems and processes.
Invest in contemporary facilities.
Collect and analyse feedback, data, and stories to continuously improve recipient outcomes.
Understand our diverse community and engage authentically to be a culturally safe organisation.
Creatively support and engage with carers and significant others.
Increase our capability to deliver Recovery Coaching.
Investigate delivering mental health services to
people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Develop our community leadership and partnerships.
Expand our service delivery in the Lower Great Southern.
Explore providing alternative modes of delivery in the broader Great Southern Region.
Investigate delivering a
Counselling Service for recipients and the wider community.
